POSTEROANTERIOR CEPHALOMETRIC STUDY OF KOREAN ADULTS WITH NORMAL OCCLUSION BY RICKETTS ANALYSIS

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of the present study was to obtain the posteroanterior cephalometric norms of Korean adult by means of Ricketts’ method of measurement.
Posteroanterior cephalometric radiographs of 51 males and 52 females ranged in age from 20 to 27 with normal occlusion and pleasing face were taken for this investigation. The cephalometric values of males were compared with those of females, and the cephalometric values of Korean adults were compared with those of the North American Caucasian by Ricketts.
The results were as follows ;
1. The posteroanterior cephalometric norms of Korean adult were obtained by means of Ricketts’ method of measurement.
2. The width of craniofacial skeleton was wider in male than in female.
3. The midline of craniofacial skeleton was nearly corresponding with that of dental arch.
4. The width of craniofacial skeleton was wider in korean adult than in Caucasian adult.
